I was born in the Finger Lakes region of upstate New York, attended the University of Madrid and the University of California at Santa Cruz, and have been a resident of Santa Cruz since 1979.
I have been a Mortgage Consultant since 1989. By 2001, a group of seven opened the doors of our new mortgage company, Santa Cruz Home Finance. My husband Peter Boutell and I have established Santa Cruz Home Finance as a mortgage banker and a leader in the local mortgage origination market.
Santa Cruz Home Finance was created with a vision of creating a company with a tightly knit group of caring professionals. Working together as Santa Cruz’s #1 Mortgage Team, we are able to approve, prepare loan documents, and fund our borrowers’ loans from our offices at 1535 Seabright Avenue in Santa Cruz. When necessary we are able to function as a mortgage broker, drawing from dozens of investors across the United States. We lend in many states and are specifically licensed in California and Washington.
My husband and I live with our very social cat in the house that we designed and built in the Seabright neighborhood. We are avid scuba divers, skiers and animal lovers. We spend our free time traveling the world in search of pristine waters for our scuba diving adventures and locally, we are often out with our horses galloping along the water’s edge on the beach near Moss Landing. In the winter months, we zoom to Truckee as often as possible to enjoy powder skiing and playing in the snow.
I also spend summer vacation time with my husband and my five siblings in the wilds of Ontario, Canada where my grandparents built a cottage in 1961 for the family. Canada’s waterways are quiet and clean. We can water ski for miles with no other boats or cottages in sight. It is a tranquil place to visit as there are no cars – transportation to the cottage is by boat only.
